Are braces suitable for adult patients?

Braces are now more acceptable to adults as they have become less visible and in many cases, the treatment time is shorter.

Is it difficult to adapt to adult braces?

In my experience, virtually all adults adapt very quickly especially as the teeth start to improve very early on. Many patients forget they have them on.

You will need to have a consultation to see if you can benefit from braces. After examining your mouth I will be able to give you a better idea of the improvements and costs involved.

Can I afford adult braces?

Cost of treatment with braces varies depending on the severity of the problem and type of brace. To ensure that treatments are affordable interest-free payment plans are on offer.

Children’s Orthodontics

My children need braces, but I don’t want them to have any teeth out?

With modern orthodontics such as the Damon system, fewer extraction are involved and many children can be treated without extractions. My philosophy is where possible to avoid extractions as this can lead to detrimental changes to the face in later years.

Children’s orthodontic waiting times

Unfortunately, NHS waiting times in some cases are reaching three to four years in the area. Therefore, we are offering braces/orthodontic treatment for children (under 18) with discounts. I don’t want braces but I do want straight teeth?

Your options are to either have invisible braces, cosmetic veneers or a combination of both. During your consultation, I will advise on which option is best for your needs. It is important that you understand all the pros and cons before making an informed decision.

Retainers for adults and children.

It is important that retainers are worn after treatment with braces.

Often these are clear retainers which are near invisible and are typically worn full-time for up to six months after treatment. Night time wear after this period may also be necessary.

I will give you a clear indication on how long the retention phase will take at the beginning of treatment.
